After a glorious Easter, summer is well and truly on its way, as are the seasonal dog bans. So here is a quick run down of the local beaches, in a rough twelve mile radius, all south coast beaches.
NO DOGS ALLOWED
Pentewan Sands: March 1st – First Sunday in November (3 miles away)
Porthpean: Easter to September 30th (5 miles away)
Charlestown: All year (7 miles away)
Carlyon Bay: Easter to September 30th (8 miles away). Also reported as All Year.
Polkerris: Easter – October 1st (12 miles away)
Portmellon: July 1st – September 30th (1 mile away)
The ban on some of these beaches is rigorously enforced. No point in spoiling your day and everyone else’s by risking it.
Polstreath. Mevagissey’s own beach.
Spit beach. Near Par. (9 miles away)
Par Sands. (10 miles away) Hugely popular with dog walkers, all facilities, all dog-friendly. At low tide, a very large beach.
Pretty much everywhere!
Goran and Caerhays have plenty of facilities.
