A lovely blue winter’s day with an Easterly blowing in. Can you think of anywhere you’d rather be?
Month: February 2017
Welcome to the Mevagissey Information Centre (MIC). For the past three years, this has been run by Alex Williams and based in The Candy Shop. Now that she has sold her business the MIC has moved into Hurley Books. Alex has always run a great service and she is now focusing her attentions on her main business, The Holistic Mermaid, as well as a laundry business for holiday lets, so she hasn’t entirely stepped away from the tourist industry 🙂 She will also continue to host the facebook page Mevagissey.
Here in Hurley Books, we are looking forward to adding a new string to our bow. As with many shops in the village we are used to answering questions about loos, bus timetables, routes up to Heligan and is there a cash dispenser? So we can now answer with authority! We are looking forward to adding some new queries to our favourites, such as Where did the water go? and When are they going to stop the cars coming in here?
Ultimately though we are looking forward to meeting lots of new people that love Mevagissey as much as we do. As I said, we are based in Hurley Books, on Jetty Street and our opening hours are 10.00 a.m.to 4.00 p.m. Monday – Saturday. As the season progresses so will our opening hours. Contact us by phone and e-mail and will endeavour to answer as fast as possible. We will also be continuing with the accommodation lists should you need to find somewhere to stay.
So that’s our first post, here’s to many more as we share all the events, activities, news and top tips with you over the seasons. Get in touch, we’d love to hear what it is you love about the village.
